Going from a single market enterprise to one that engages multiple markets is not an easy task. Hetal Desai, a Melbourne based Fashion designer who started her career back in 2017as a freelancer in Ahmedabad, is now a proud owner of a renowned fashion label named Veer Fashion Studio.
With a dream of becoming one of the leading fashion designers in the industry, Hetal started on a small scale intending to spread her creative wings across quarters. She married to Melbourne based man and shifted permanently to Australia. This allowed her to tap into the Australian markets as well and showcase her creative body of work.
Hetal Desai is best known for designs that focus on Indian traditions and culture. She offers a wide range of expertise in casual wear, lehenga cholis for women and kids of all age groups. She is also specialised in making Rabari dress, a special community-based outfit. Hetal is also known for her hand-painted designs which were also part of one of the fashion shows held in Ahmedabad by BRDS institute.
Talking about her journey, Hetal says, “It has been an incredible journey so far. When I started as a freelancer in Ahmedabad right after passing my designing studies, I had no clue, one day I’ll be this successful. Things changed after marriage. Moving to Melbourne with my husband gave me many opportunities. It is not easy to work on Indian clients from offshore, but with the help of such a great team, it becomes easy. I wish to create more and more designs that become a staple in the Fashion industry”.
In the past, Hetal has collaborated with a lot of celebrities and singers like Gauahar Khan, Kinjal Dave, Aishwarya Majumdar, Jignesh Barot to name a few. Her designs are a status symbol amongst the elite community.
Originally Hailing from Gujarat, Hetal Desai began her career as a fashion designer right after graduating from BRDS, Ahmedabad. Hetal manages her business from Australia with the help of her mom and sister along with a big team comprising of craftsman and labourers.
