Collegedunia Emerges as Market Leader - Revenue crosses 70 Million Mark in FY 2020

Collegedunia.com surpasses Info Edge backed Shiksha.com in FY 2020 Revenue

Collegedunia, India’s leading education portal, has collected over 73 Cr in the last financial year with almost 100% YoY growth. The Infoedge backed venture Shiksha.com reported its net revenue at 53Cr with 10.8% YoY increase. Collegedunia a relatively new portal has filled this gap at an unprecedented rate of just four years, Shiksha has been in the business for the last 10 years.

The remarkable growth of Collegedunia started in December 2014, when Sahil Chalana, a BITS Pilani alumnus decided to launch a portal which offers a college search engine along with reviews. Collegedunia features highest review count in the category with 3 lac reviews for 17000 degree colleges & universities of India.

Collegedunia growth can be attributed to the consistent visitors’ growth at 50% YoY increase in traffic. For October 2020, Similarweb reports that Collegedunia has managed 21 Million sessions and Shiksha is at 27 Million. Collegedunia has recently launched a new portal Prepp.in, a government exam preparation portal that does around 5 million sessions a month, on the contrary Shiksha offers this vertical over the same portal attributing certain percentage of its traffic to the government section.

For the month of October 2020, Similarweb reports for Collegedunia average session duration are over three minutes & 2.75 pages per visit. Shiksha’s average session duration is within the 3 minutes timeframe

Collegedunia’s recently launched Study Abroad vertical has also started gaining traction and is serving average 4000 study abroad counselling subscribers per month.

Collegedunia growth report is coming amid rising uncertainties due to Covid and the firm has managed to maintain 30% quarterly growth report for Q2 2020-2021.
